I'm Marcell Pek (they/them), a software engineer and former entrepreneur.
I work at Google on the Borg SRE team. We build, scale, and maintain the cluster management system responsible for running virtually all production services at Google on its global machine fleet.
Before that, I worked at Apple on systems responsible for the build and release process for iOS, macOS, and other Apple software products. Prior still, I was the founding engineer at Biomage, where they build amazing bioinformatics products for cutting-edge technologies in research biology.
I hold an MSci in Software Engineering from the University of Glasgow, with an industry placement at the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School as part of my work at Biomage. I analyzed human transcriptomics experiments at the Institute of Cardiovascular and Medical Sciences to help researchers understand and cure cardiovasular diseases.
I also worked at J.P. Morgan, University of Glasgow, and Jet-X Engineering on infrastructure, web applications, and embedded systems, among others. I also contributed to various open-source projects for video games, primarily in the areas of network stacks, reverse engineering, systems architecture, and cybersecurity.
